Short Synopsis: Zoe Miller is a fifteen year old teen with a talent for potions. But as soon as she finds out her father is dating the mother of her long time crush, the two decide to plot against their parents, in hopes of breaking them apart.

My Thoughts: An interesting read that kept me entertained through out the book.
Zoe Miller isn't your average teen. She has a knack for potions. But these potions that Zoe Brews can in no way be self serving. If she makes a love potion for a friend, or make a potion to help her appearance in any way, Zoe must face the consequences. Life as a witch can be super tough.
But things don't go very well, when Zoe finds out that her father is dating her mother's long time crush. Together, Zoe and Jake decide to come up with a plan to split their parents apart. They decide to pretend to be boyfriend and girlfriend so their parents can see what they see: A disaster. But as soon as their plan starts to take action, the two quickly become attracted to each other for real. Can Zoe keep her life as a witch a secret from her friends, and still be with her long time crush, Jake, the way she's always dreamed of?

A seriously entertaining read. I loved reading about the characters, Zoe and Jake and the situations that they had gotten into. I also enjoyed reading the chemistry that they had. It was interesting to read about the predicament that they are in when they find out their parents are dating.
I loved the interesting take on the witch genre, where if Zoe made a self-serving potion, that it would backfire on her somehow. There were a couple of situations that I didn't find too appealing. I thought that Jake was a bit of a jerk when he and Zoe first started having feelings for each other, and didn't really have a right to be so jealous when she brought her friend Milo around either. I also felt that Anya wasn't a very good friend or girlfriend when she was stringing along her current boyfriend, Brad, or when she was starting to feel jealous of Zoe and Jake. In general, a very entertaining read, and I can't wait to find out what happens next,  and am excited for the next installment.

Would I recommend this book: Yes

Rating: I give this book a 4/5.
