Short Synopsis: Dex and Perry are back. In this adventure, Dex and Perry investigate a mental institution, and the two get into a sticky situation that's more than they bargained for.
My Thoughts: I absolutely loved this novel. Halle's best one yet!
Dex and Perry had always had a risky relationship. In this new adventure, Perry and Dex's limits are put to the test, When Dex's girlfriend, Jennifer invites Perry to stay with them for their ShowNet holiday party in Seattle.
As Perry stays with the couple, more insight from Dex's past as well as Jennifer's present is gained from Perry's point of view. Perry learns that even though the couple seems perfect on the outside, it doesn't mean that things are going great in real life.
Aside from the awkwardness of living with the couple, Perry and Dex also decide to investigate a local metal hospital for the show. And, if there wasn't enough drama already, Perry starts to see visions of a ghost haunting her, which Dex claims is the ghost of his dead ex-girlfriend. Can Perry survive living with Jenn and Dex, and the ghosts of her pasts?
Was a seriously awesome book. I couldn't put it down! Loved the characters, drama, and the situation that Perry is suddenly thrust into. We learn more about the main characters, Dex, Perry, and even Jenn, of their lives, and how each view the other.
I enjoyed reading the paranormal aspect of the novel as well, and thought it was brilliant that their latest conquest was a mental institution. It was also interesting to read how the mental institution tied into some of the character's past, and how Perry and Dex's past lives affect their present.
I also loved reading about the show's drama as well, and how great things were going for them that they even had rivals. If you've kept up with The Experiment In Terror series, this is a book that is definitely one not to miss. And if you haven't been reading them, what are you waiting for? The ending is such a jaw dropping, 'I can't believe she did that,' I can't wait for the next one.
I was a bit disappointed about how the ghost of Dex's ex-girlfriend and Perry's dreams with her ghost kind of just faded off from the story line, and wanted to learn more. A little slow in some areas, but over all, a great entertaining read, that keeps the audience wanting more.
Would I recommend this book: Yes!
Rating: I give this book a 5/5.
