Interview with author: E.A. Rigg

Hey fellow readers, today, I am happy to introduce, E.A. Rigg and her latest novel, Casey Barnes Eponymous.

Here's more with E.A. Rigg and her views on this novel:

1) Tell us about your latest book

Casey Barnes Eponymous is the story of music lover Casey Barnes' quest to win the attention back of a guy she had a fling with over the summer.  She starts a band but soon gets more than she bargained for when unexpected feelings arise for her drummer and when the band's antics land them smack dab in the middle of a schoolwide scandal.

2) Are any of the experiences or characters in the book based on real life?

Yes and no.  I was in a band for several years and I love music.  But I was never as naughty as Casey in high school.

3) Is there a message in the book that you wish to convey to readers?

Don't bend over backwards to get the guy back.  Bend over backwards to make your life wonderful.  He (and many others) will follow.

4) How did you come up with the title?

It's named for an eponymous, or self-titled, rock album because at the end of the book Casey starts to figure out who she is.

5) Do you consider writing as a career or a hobby?

I consider writing to be a fire in my soul that at times drives me nuts and most of the time makes my life more exciting and beautiful.  How and when it will translate into a career is second to that.

6) A lot of authors use music to help them with their writing. Does music help your creativity, or do you have other things that help you through?

Absolutely.  It inspires me.

7) When you write, do you free style or do you use an outline?

I use an outline.  I do better when I plan ahead.

8) If you could rewrite your novel over again, would you change anything?

I already did but I'm happy with where the book ended up and would not change a thing at this point.

9) What inspired you to write this novel?

I teach high school and am constantly disciplining unruly kids.  I thought it would be fun to write a book from the POV of one of them.

10) Do you have any future works planned?

Yes.  I just started a new book.  I am very excited about it.
