Short Synopsis: Wendy thinks that she is finally getting the hang of things , being the princess of Trylle. But things start to change when the Vittra start attacking Wendy's home, and start coming after her.

My Thoughts: Another great read from Amanda Hocking of the Trylle series. But was a little bit disappointed in some areas.

Wendy thinks that things are finally starting to come together as she continues to learn about life as a Trylle, and being a princess. But things aren't all fun and games as the Vittra attack and come for Wendy. Though the Vittra does not succeed, Wendy decides to run away from Trylle, and back home to her host brother Matt.
But the Vittra are relentless and capture Wendy, her brother, and Wendy's new tracker, Duncan, and the three are held hostage in Vittra territory. While at Vittra, Wendy learns that she is also half Vittra, as her father, the Vittra king, was once married to Wendy's mother.
Upon learning this new information, Wendy is torn between two worlds, as she learns that she is the only heir for both kingdoms. And if things weren't bad enough, Wendy's relationship with Finn becomes even more rockier as Wendy starts to fall for Loki, a Vittra enemy. And on top of everything else, Wendy also learns that she must agree to an arranged marriage, even though she does not love her betrothed. Amanda must do what she thinks is right, not only as a princess of Trylle, but a princess of Vittra as well.

A really fast paced read, and I was anxious to learn more about Wendy's new world. The characters were a refreshing take on the fantasy world. I enjoyed reading what Wendy had to go through, and what she had to endure, as she found out that she was royalty of her mother's enemy as well.
Sometimes authors in the fantasy world make certain situations seem really unlikely and unbelievable. But Hocking writes in a way that makes the story work for the novel. Nothing is too far fetched, and that's what I enjoy about this series.
There were some things that kind of bothered me however. I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but I could not stand Finn in this book. I loved him in the first one, but in this one, he seemed kind of like a jerk, and distant. I wanted him to take control and fight for Wendy, even though their love was forbidden. I also wasn't too pleased with the character Loki, adding another love potential for Wendy, even though they barely knew each other.
It was interesting to read about Wendy's arranged marriage, her issues with her mother and father, and her potential love life with two different characters. Overall, another great read by Amanda Hocking, and definitely not one to miss in the Trylle series.

Would I recommend this book: Yes

Rating: I give this book a 4/5.
