Short Synopsis: Beatrice Alexander is not your average school teacher. Wielding the powers of psychokinetics, she manages to save a civilian from a horrible accident. Soon after, a special government FBI division called the F.R.E.A.K.S. squad comes in contact with Bea, forcing her to join their group so she can control her powers, and help those in need.

My Thoughts: A scary, gruesome tale about a group of supernaturals fighting against an uncontrollable group of zombies.

Beatrice Alexander wishes she was an average woman, however, she is anything but. After saving a civilian from an awful car accident using her special powers, Bea is contacted by a government FBI division. She is told that there is a way to help control her powers and is forced to join a group of unique supernaturals, helping all those in need, and fighting against the horrible forces of nature.
For Bea's first mission, she must find out who is behind a horrible death. But things don't go as they planned, and the whole town starts to become infested with a group of zombies. Bea and the gang must track down the necromancer who's responsible, and catch the person who's behind the killing.

I love settings when government agencies are involved! I felt sympathy for Bea when she felt like she didn't belong and couldn't control her powers. The group of supernaturals that Bea follows suit with are absolutely brilliant. I also love the love triangle between Bea, Oliver, and Will and I can't wait to see whom Bea chooses to be with! The details in this story were absolutely gory and creepy and I couldn't wait to read more. Well written, and fast-paced, Harlow leaves you wanting more. If you're looking for a great, scary read, be sure to add Mind Over Monsters to your list!

Would I recommend this book: Yes

Rating: I give this book a 4/5.
