Book: The Pineville Heist by Lee Chambers

Genre: Young Adult, Thriller

Short Synopsis: All Aaron ever wanted was his father's attention. But when Aaron overhears a robbery that has taken place from his father's money, all Aaron can think about is getting the money back to where it belongs, in the right hands.
My Thoughts: It was definitely a nice break from my usual reads, and kept me entertained through out the novel.
Aaron, a high school student involved in theater, only wanted the attention of his workaholic father. Aaron thinks that landing the lead in the school play of Hamlet will definitely have his father noticing him. But Aaron's father is constantly distracted by work, and has no time for Aaron.
But things are about to change, when Aaron stumbles upon a bank robbery involving millions of dollars from his father's account. Aaron is caught in the middle, locked down at his high school, and Aaron has no idea who to trust. Aaron must find a way to get his father's money back to where it belongs, trap the men responsible, and get his friends to safety. But who can Aaron really count on for all the right reasons, with this much money at stake?
I really enjoyed reading this novel. We get to experience the turn of events through Aaron's eyes, as he tries to save those he cares about, and get the money back into the right hands. It was also interesting to read how the majority of the novel is set through out the high school, as it would be the most unlikely place to have a bank robbery end up in.
I loved reading and trying to figure out who Aaron could trust and who he couldn't trust. The whole novel felt like a cat and mouse game of trying to get the money, and it was also interesting to read the reason behind the stolen money as well. There were quite a few characters in this story that had you believing one version of the story and their intentions, which turned out to be completely false.
As you read along with the novel and Aaron's thoughts, you really start to become involved with what he is really going through. There is a definite character growth with Aaron as we read how he was before the incident and how it had changed him afterwords. A very entertaining action packed story that will have you guessing till the end.
Would I recommend this book: Yes
