Short Synopsis: Nikki's whole life changes one day as she's chased by four crazy animals she believes to be wolves. She is saved by a mysterious stranger, and suddenly Nikki is now being hunted down and Nikki is about to find out why.
My Thoughts: An interesting take on the paranormal genre of angels. I can't wait to find out what happens next.
Nikki's life has always been normal with school and friends. It isn't until she finds herself being chased by rabid wolves one day, that everything changes. As Nikki is being chased by the wolves, she is saved by handsome stranger.
Nikki finds out that she is being hunted by evil at all costs. Help is called upon to protect Nikki under three watchful eyes, of handsome men who call themselves Halflings. The three brothers, Raven, Mace, and Vine have sworn to protect Nikki no matter what.
But things start to become more complicated, as Nikki starts to develope feelings for Mace and Raven. But Mace explains that it is forbidden for Halflings to have a relationship with a human. But Nikki can't help how she feels. As danger sparks in every corner, can the three halflings keep Nikki from being harmed and can Nikki deal with her feelings for both boys?
A very different take on the angel genre. I loved the triangle relationship between Nikki, Raven, and Mace. It was very interesting to see what Nikki was going through, and how she struggled with the information that was announced to her.
The only thing that didn't really grab my attention was the explanations behind the halfling situation. It was a bit confusing for me, and who was actually chasing Nikki down was a bit confusing as well. I loved how jealous Nikki became once she met the female halflings even though she had no reason to be. It was entertaining to read how completely different Raven and Mace's attitudes were, yet both held Nikki's attention.
I felt sympathetic towards Nikki when she found out what had happened to her parents, and the ending was left at such a thrilling ending, I can't wait to read what happens next. I really enjoyed the love triangle and hope to read more of Nikki's struggles, as she continues on to her next adventure. All in all, an entertaining, fast paced read, and I look forward to reading more from this author.
Would I recommend this book: Yes
Rating: I give this book a 4/5.
